Constantine House is located in the heart of Thorpe Estate, a historic, privately-owned rural Estate spanning three thousand acres.

The Estate has been stewarded by the same family for 400 years, and prides itself on sustainable farming, nature conservation and rural diversification. Constantine House is the latest venture and is wholly owned by the family and operated by a small team of passionate hospitality professionals.

While Thorpe Hall was built in 1650, most of the buildings on the Estate were built as an innovative Model Farm in the High Victorian era, designed to produce food for the exploding population of Birmingham, the cradle of the Industrial Revolution. These buildings have been sensitively restored and renovated over a period of 20 years, and are now home to various studios, workshops, retail and hospitality businesses.

Although farming techniques have changed immeasurably since the 1850s, farming is still integral to the Estate. Today, award winning wheat and potatoes are grown in rotation, while Waitrose beef and lamb are grass fed on pastures in front of Thorpe Hall. Wildflower meadows, woodlands, spring-fed lakes and mature hedgerows are part of the wider ecosystem which is managed sensitively to balance natural biodiversity and public access.

Constantine House is just a stone's throw away from Cripps and Co's wedding venue, Thorpe Garden, so we invite you to swap dancing shoes for cosy beds and luxury linens at the end of the night. Although the House is operated independently of the wedding venue, all couples are welcome to book the accommodation, subject to availability.
